Designer Safe

The crew at Style.com recently posted an announcement that Smythson would be releasing a Mondrian inspired safe in October. "..the limited-edition series features writing folders, travel wallets, passport covers, and the like, all rendered in colorful geometric patterns. The look is also evident in their Accessory Cabinet (pictured), which comes equipped with a perpetual motion watch-rocker (one way to keep it wound) and also, curiously, doubles as a safe. It's intriguing enough, even if we're doubtful the De Stijl movement had this sort of application in mind."

Louis Vuitton Flagship Store in Japan

UNStudio inspired the design for the new Louis V store in Japan. As Dezeen describes, "The design for the 10 storey (54 meter tall) flagship Louis Vuitton store in Japan aims to establish an architectural equivalent of the identity of Louis Vuitton in which classical and modern qualities are blended, reinforcing each other. The design inspires the visitor with a feeling of being in the House of Louis Vuitton by celebrating the qualities that make up the essence of the company, its products, its history and its future." Designer Coke Bottles

Usually when you think of the fashion world and coke - this isn't exactly what comes to mind. Coca Cola has teamed up with designer Roberto Cavalli to produce a set of limited edition bottles which will be distributed in Italy between September and December. The collection is limited to 300,000 bottles. While we aren't huge fans of the designs themselves - it is nice to see an unconventional approach being taken in product development.
