Our friends over at Men.Style.com have just released a feature on the trend of clear frames for SS 09 sunglasses. The Tom Ford's are our personal favourite but the Club Monoco variety are definately the best alternative for the price conscious consumer. Check it out here.

KAMRAN HOUSE / IRAN

The Amordad design group combined traditional Iranian architecture, modern materials, and ancient know how to produce a beautiful environmentally friendly building.

"The concept of designing for the central void is derived from the form and application of traditional wind towers of desert regions of Iran. This void can lead the wind into the spaces in different floors around it. And because of applying the water in the bottom, it would also become cool and refreshed. In addition the void can also lead the natural light through the mirrors which are used in its body. These mirrors reflect the light to each other so that it can move down and get to the spaces even in the ground floor." - ArchDaily

MARCIO KOGAN / PANAMA HOUSE

Of all the homes we at r Lie have posted this is one of our favourites. There is minimal use of walls, closings, and doors making the entire structure seemingly fluid. Architect Marcio Kogan was a film director up until the age of 30. His talent to draw in an audience and guide the human eye is evident in Panama House. Find out more on the Brasilian architect and his firm here.

Every so often, rlie runs across individuals who display creativity that we feel should not remain behind the curtains. Thomas Kettner's inspirational photography encompasses his vision of beauty from all over the world, whether it be the female artistry,a gentleman's valor, or the vastness of landscape. Working out of his own studio in Stuttgart, this South African raised artist, through his photography, displays prolific stature and we could not help but mention him as one of the most accomplished photographers that you should know about. To learn more about Thomas Kettner, you can visit his website.

As a side mention, we would also like to say kudos to Mr.Kettners' website designers, Robinizer superior design studios, for creating the very creative and interactive website which is not only easy to use but also very fun.

ADAM BERG / CAROUSEL

“Created entirely by Stink Digital, this new interactive campaign promotes Philips latest entrant into the television market, the CINEMA 21:9. Since the televisions 21:9 frame lends itself so readily to film, our friends at Tribal DDB, Amsterdam commissioned us to create a piece of filmed content that could hold its own with Hollywood’s best. Director Adam Berg responded with an idea for an epic frozen moment cops and robbers shootout sequence that included clowns, explosions, a decimated hospital, and plenty of broken glass and bullet casings. This epic film is the centrepiece of the project. On its own, it clocks in at a (totally coincidental) two minutes and 19 seconds, but Berg conceived it to work as an endless loop.” - Unique Daily

More interestingly this project was part of a refurbishment which makes the final outcome even more praise worthy. Find more images here courtesy of Ezzo and ArchDaily.
