LEATHER JACKET / UNDERCOVER 09

Undercover has just released a leather jacket for the 2009 fall/winter season. The colorful material at the shoulders and the very subtle tonal design on the arms give it a very unique look that caught out our attention immediately. Although the price is not available , the jacket is available on Note.

TIMETABLE / W+K LONDON

Wieden+Kennedy needed a way to increase the efficiency of their meetings. Ico Design and Sidekick Studios came up with the Timetable, an innovative table that visually controls the length of the meetings using 10 RGB LED panels beneath the surface, each representing 1/10 of the meeting time. As the panels switch off with a non disruptive sound effect , time is counted down to when the meeting will be over and when all the panels are off, a vocal message is played signaling that the meeting is over.

IDEA 2009 WINNERS / BEST DESIGNS OF 2009

The International Design Excellence Awards 2009 , IDEA, are presented to the most innovative and user friendly innovations of the year. Ranging from medical systems to everyday items, these winners were selected on the basis of user friendliness whether the user is a runner, an environmentalist, a warehouse worker, a surgeon, an everyday civilian. Over 30 items were given the Gold medal, and just to show the innovation of these items , the Best in show award went to garbage (literally). To view all the finalist , visit here and silver medalists can be seen here. We highly recommend our viewers to gloss over some of the gold and silver medalists, maybe one of you will be motivated and become a part of IDEA in the future years.

JACK BEATS / TORONTO

Jack Beats will be tearing up The Social in Toronto on August 6th.

PEEPSHOW / WRESTLING SHOES

I have the sneaking suspicion that we are going to be seeing a lot of this in the following year. Wrestling shoes are super comfortable and have the high top appeal that many sneakerheads desire. We already saw Dior and Jil Sander branching into something similar last season but expect SS10 to be the defining year for stripping the bulk off traditional high tops. Racing shoes would also work.

31 BLAIR ROAD RESIDENCE / SINGAPORE

ONG & ONG put together this beautiful concept. The 31 Blair Road Residence brings together unprocessed materials, natural light, a sleek fluidity, and clean yet bold lines. Here's a sneak peak of Sasha Pivovarova in the Fall H&M ad campaign. The Alice in Wonderland feel is really what makes this shot work.

DAVID GUETTA + AKON

Hit after hit after hit - David Guetta is on fire. He didn't waste any time after producing the BEP "I gotta feeling" and jumped on with Akon. Above is a snippet of the track and below we have the full record (although the quality isn't the greatest). Some might scoff him for his hair modeling days, but at rLie Guetta has always been a favourite of ours.

A TRAK + ARMAND VAN HELDEN / DUCK SAUCE

Armand Van Helden and A Trak talk about Duck Sauce - their 4 track EP to be released in September. The tracks we've heard in clubs so far, aNYway and You're Nasty have a great 70's come house come hip-hop feel. Can't wait to hear the finished product. This collaboration was a long time comming.

MELBOURNE RECITAL CENTRE / ARM ARCHITECTS

ARM Architects completed the Melbourne Recital Centre and Melbourne Theatre Company. The project - apart from being absolutely mezmerizing - also served to revive the Southbank area which was known to be notoriously desolate. More here.

NOT RTW / AVANT-GARDE

Speaks for itself. Piece courtesy of men.style.com

LOFTCUBE / NOMADIC LIVING

Self described by the designers as "mobile living units, which can be placed on flat roofs by helicopters or cranes" the Loftcube is truly unique in both conception and design. Priced in the low $100,000's it makes for an absolutely stunning living or work space. The idea behind mobile living units such as the LoftCube is to make use of available roof space in today's mega cities. More importantly it is part of a wave of modern nomadic living spaces geared towards today's itinerant workforce. Designed by Werner Aisslinger.

HOTEL FOUQUET BARRIER / PARIS

Architect Edouard Francois was in charge of remodeling the Hotel Fouquet, which is located in the heart of Paris. The project completed in 2006 - although some work is still being done. The successful fusion of old world architecture with modern design is probably one of the greatest challenges any resortation faces - Mr. Fanchanc however has proven once again that he is worthy of his reputation. FAST COMPANY / 100 MOST CREATIVE

Jonathan Ive tops the list this year - which is not surprising taking into account the iPhone/iPod touch/ and unibody macbook that he brought around in 2009. Find the list here. Images and list courtesy of Fast Company.

CHRIS CRAYMER / TRUE ROMANCE

"Mulberry have sponsored photographer Chris Craymer's first book - the images of which will be exhibited in the windows of Mulberry stores all over the world." - Dazed Digital

Chris Craymer's work has a certain edginess to it - somewhat reminiscent of Terry Richards portraits but without quite the same extraction of the subjects personality. This makes for a more marketable yet still raw image.

The flexibility of the wood makes this coat rack perfect for everyday hassle free use. The eight arms bend down like tree branches whenever a coat is hung on them, this way other coats hanging will not be disturbed and you can take your coat off the rack without making a mess. THE HOUSE BEHIND THE WALL / SLOVENIA

Normally modern villas with great views are located on a hillside, but this wall-like house not only opens up to a great view, but also blends the living space with nature. The structure of the house restricts the view such that the boundaries keeps out the sight of the surrounding messy structures.
